Deveau
Michel Deveau is the progenitor for the Deveau’s in Acadia, although other lines of the Deveau family are known to have been in Quebec they are unrelated. Michel arrived in Acadie in the 1690’s from France and married French Canadian Marie-Madeleine Martin. Very little is known about the descendants of Michel other than that he had three sons; Pierre, Jacques, and Jean. Jacques, Michel’s second eldest son, is documented as having been a prisoner at Fort Edward in 1761 and in 1762.
