Weeden
James Weeden (born in Rhode Island - died before December 1783) was a fourth generation settler in New England. James’s second great grandfather, James Weedon, arrived in Boston from England in 1638 on the ship Martin. James was one of the original grantees of Newport, N.S. in 1761. James left Newport, Rhode Island, New England in May 1760 and arrived in Pisiquid (Fort Edward, Windsor, N.S) on the sloop Sally with a family of five. James drew Newport Farm lot D 3rd Div. No.1 on 18 February 1762, however on 3 June 1765 James exchanged his land for a lot between James Mosher and the Grist Mill. After his death James’s sons Daniel and William, along with their mother Mary, deeded out a large part of James’s lot. James married Mary (marriage date unknown) and together they had four children.
