Pellerin Family
The Pellerin’s of Acadia are descendants of Francois Pellerin. Francois was born in Quebec c.1636 but moved to Acadia by 1665 and married Andree Martin. Etienne Pellerin was another Pellerin who moved to Acadia. It is generally believed that Etienne is the younger brother of Francois although we can not be certain. Both Francois and Etienne had large families; Francois had seven children and Etienne had ten children. A number of Francois’s and Etienne’s descendents ended up imprisoned at Fort Edward in the 1760’s. Michel, Alex Sr., Alex Jr., and Germain Pellerin and their family all ended up as prisoners held in Fort Edward in 1761 to 1762.
