NovaMuse is a database of collections held in over 50 Nova Scotia museums, including the Avon River Heritage Museum.
The museum's mission is to engage and inspire our community and beyond through preserving, sharing, and celebrating Avon River area stories, heritage, arts, culture, ecology, and interrelationships among all peoples of this area and their environment. Through NovaMuse you can learn more about each of our artifacts, of which include a variety of wooden shipbuilding tools, nautical instruments, maps, logs, photographs and paintings related to the "Golden Age of Sail".
You can explore information about our museum's collection here: https://novamuse.ca/Detail/entities/221575. The collection includes 512 historical archival documents including ships’s logs, township meeting notes, correspondence, historic photographs, etc., now digitized.
