Join us on Sunday August the 18th for the 10th anniversary of Paint Avondale, welcoming visitors and artists of all mediums for a day devoted to creative expression.
Fuelled by the vibrant energy that radiates from this small hamlet and surrounding estuary, artists will be dotted among the many historic homes and venues that make up the Avondale Loop and Newport Landing Waterfront Park, capturing unique perspectives of this historic and evolving community.
There is no fee for artists to register. If you'd like to participate please email us with your name and a biography or artist's statement and a photo of yourself at work or an example of your artwork. This information will be used for promotional purposes leading up to the event.
The event runs from 10 am until 4 pm on August 18th and artists are welcome to sign-in at the Avon Spirit Shipyard (homebase for the duration of the event) anytime after 9 am. We have several local residents that have offered their properties as locations for artists to paint. If you have a location in mind please let us know and we will coordinate with the property owners ahead of time.
On the day of the event visitors are invited to start the tour by exploring our Museum and the Artists’ Landing Studio & Art Gallery, or at the Avondale Sky Winery, where they can pick up a map of the artists’ locations. The cafe will be open for the duration of the event, serving lunch and dessert. We're encouraging visitors to make a day of it, exploringing the park and trails, sticking around for SOFA SUNDAYS, featuring music by the Public Service, between 3-5 in the art gallery.
