The Great Little Art Show

A community favourite since 1998! Organized by the Avon River Arts Society, the Great Little Art Show raises important funds that contribute to the ongoing operation of the Avon River Heritage Centre and Avon Spirit Shipyard.

Guidelines for Artists

Our volunteers rely on the information and cooperation you provide, so please make certain all of the information provided is accurate to your satisfaction.
 
By following these simple guidelines, together, we can help ensure a successful show!

·    Works created in all mediums are accepted into the show, such as: Painting, Drawing, Pottery, Sculpture, Textile, Fibre, Jewellery, Wood, Glass, Stone, Metal, Photography. Please contact the coordinators with any questions about specific works. All artwork must be recent and not previously shown locally or in a past GLAS exhibition. ​

·    As of May 2nd, 2025 all work will remain on public display and on-line until the show closes on Sunday, June 29th at 4:00 pm. Take-down is between 4pm & 5pm on the 29th of June, or by appointment the week following.

·    Drop off will be Saturday, April 26th between 1 pm & 3 pm or by appointment. We try our best to accommodate, please contact us with any questions or to schedule an appointment.

·    All works must be presentable. Paintings must be dry and equipped to be hung. To avoid confusion, please indicate titles of work on the back or bottom of each piece.

·    Insurance: Our insurance does not cover the value of your work. We encourage you to contact your own policy provider for any additional coverage you feel warranted. Every precaution will be taken to safeguard your work.

·    $30.00 entry fee per artist ($25 for members of Avon River Arts Society), to be received in full before any work will be accepted into the show.

·    Submissions/payment may be completed by filling out the entry form. Payment can be made by sending a personal cheque made out to the Avon River Heritage Society, 17 Belmont Rd, Newport Landing/Avondale, B0N 2A0 or by E-transfer to [email protected]

·    Pricing: The ARHS retains a 25% commission of all sales, so please price your work accordingly.

·    All entry packages (form/fee/bio) must be received by April 20th, 2025. Bios have a 200-word limit. Please include your preferred method of contact (email, phone number, website or mailing address) that you wish to appear along with your write-up.  If you are uncertain of which pieces you are submitting, you can indicate those pieces as TBD and enter the information when you are delivering your artwork. 

·    Every effort will be made to pay Artists for sold items within thirty days.

Deadline to Register:  Sunday, April 20th, 2025

Opening Reception 2025 Great Little Art Show - Friday, May 2nd at 7pm

Chaque mai nous commençons notre saison avec une exposition d’art soulignant les nouvelles œuvres d’art par les artistes établi et émergent de la Hants County et au-delà.  
 
Organise par la Société Artistique Avon River, le Grande Petite Exposition d’Art est une attraction majeure dans notre communaute et c’est un gala de bienfaisance significatif pour l’Avon River Heritage Museum et l’Avon Spirit Shipyard.
 
Nous vous invitez de nous joindre pour cet évènement important, qui aide à maintenir notre établissement merveilleux opérationnel. Nous sommes très reconnaissant pour notre volontaires dédie et pour ceux et celles qui ont aidé à faire notre évènements spéciaux.
